Most people think they have a clarity problem.
I don't think they do.
I think they have a noise problem.
Recently, I sat down with Emma Zia on the ResonanceX Podcast.
During our conversation, she shared a story about being twelve years old.
She felt invisible.
Like she didn't fit in.
Like she wasn't sure where she belonged.
One day she came home from school, grabbed her journal, and wrote a simple sentence across the page:
"Universe, please make me fit in."
What happened next stopped me in my tracks.
She described hearing two voices.
One voice told her everything she already feared.
You don't belong.
You aren't enough.
Nobody sees you.
The other voice was quiet.
Calm.
Certain.
It simply said:
"There is a version of you that isn't in this pain. You just need to find her."
When she shared that story, something clicked for me.
Because I don't think Emma is unique in this feeling.
I think every one of us has experienced those same two voices.
One voice contracts.
One voice expands.
One voice creates fear.
One voice creates possibility.
One voice is Noise.
The other is Signal.
The challenge is that most of us spend years believing the loudest voice is the truth.
But the loudest voice is usually just the oldest.
The loudest voice is built from:
Past experiences
Old stories
Conditioning
Fear
Survival
It has simply had more practice.
The quieter voice is different.
It doesn't argue.
It doesn't force.
It doesn't chase.
It simply knows.
You have felt it before.
It shows up when:
You know the relationship has run its course.
You know it is time to leave the job.
You know you should start the business.
You know you need to have the conversation.
You know exactly what needs to happen next.
The interesting part is that we usually hear the answer immediately.
The suffering begins when we start negotiating with it.
We call it confusion.
We call it uncertainty.
We call it overthinking.
But often it is simply resistance.
The truth arrived.
We just didn't like what it said.
For years I thought alignment was about finding answers.
Now I think alignment is about remembering which voice deserves your attention.
The voice of Signal has probably been speaking to you for a long time.
The problem isn't hearing it.
The problem is trusting it.
Maybe that is why pressure shows up in our lives.
Not to punish us.
Not to break us.
But to make the two voices impossible to confuse.
Pressure has a way of stripping away the performance.
Eventually the distractions stop working.
The noise loses its grip.
And what remains is the truth that was there all along.
The voice beneath the noise.
The one that already knows.
The one that has been waiting for you to listen.
Thank you, Emma, for a great conversation!
